Christ: The Only Way to God

We naturally are alienated from God, and God is alienated from us. Our Maker is not at peace with us. But in Christ there is a way for a free communication between God and us, for us to come to God and for God to communicate Himself to us by His Spirit. Christ, by being the way to the Father, is the way to true happiness and contentment. John 10:9 says, “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and find pasture.”

So, the needy, thirsty souls are invited to come to Jesus. You who have not yet come to Christ are in a poor, needy condition. You are in a parched wilderness, in a dry and thirsty land. And if you are thoroughly awakened, you are aware that you are in distress and ready to faint for want of something to satisfy your souls. Come to Christ, who is “as rivers of water in a dry place” (Isaiah 32:2). There are abundance and fullness in Him; He is like a river that is always flowing, flowing with love, compassion, kindness, mercy and grace. You may live by that river forever and never be in want.

Through Christ, come to God the Father, from whom you have been separated by sin. He is the way, the truth, and the life; He is the door by which if any person enters they will be saved.

  1. Phil, I highly recommend the book “Is Jesus The Only Savior?” By Dr. James Edwards. It’s a great book and both scholarly and pastoral.

  2. Phil says:

Hi Andrew, I’ll check out the book for sure.

The context of this blog post was basically just a straight up proclamation of the message of the gospel. In light of recent conversations, I’m beginning to think that a lot of people, even the one’s who are regular church attenders, know about the person of Jesus, but do not yet realize the significance of Jesus as Savior and Lord. Anyhow, I’m going to check out the book right now on Amazon.
